Four Boise State Players Suspended Vs. Michigan State

Stay connected with SB Nation

Four Boise State players have been suspended for the Broncos' opener against Michigan State, according to Brian Murphy of the Idaho Statesman.

Chris Roberson, a three-year starter at long snapper is the most notable suspension. Joining him will be third-string quarterback Jimmy Laughrea, reserve wide receiver Dallas Burroughs and third-string tailback Jay Ajayi. The quartet were suspended for unspecified team-rules violations

Ajayi is missing the game as a result of his suspension from the MAACO Bowl last season. In December, the redshirt freshman pled guilty to misdemeanor petty theft. He is expected back for the Broncos' September 15th matchup against Miami of Ohio.

Roberson will be replaced at long-snapper on Friday night by sophomore Kevin Keane, a walk-on transfer from Ohio Wesleyan.
