Louisville and Kentucky, despite being so basketball-prone, really yap at each other a whole lot about football. So far this year there was the billboard battle and the urinal thing, and now there's the latest Morgan Newton thing:
"For Louisville, they don't have to go through the wear and tear that we go through week to week," Newton said. "So this is a big game for them because it's a non-conference game and it'll be competitive for them. You know, they'll end the season whatever and a couple losses. They just don't play the schedule we play, so it's a big game for them for that reason. It's a quality, non-conference opponent."
UK's schedule is probably harder overall, but it's tough to use the wear-and-tear angle to downplay a Week 1 game, isn't it?
Louisville's out-of-conference schedule includes three bowl teams, none of which is Kentucky. Kentucky plays one non-SEC bowl team (Louisville!) and misses both Alabama and LSU.
