Arkansas opens its 2012 campaign by hosting Jacksonville State Sept. 1.

The Arkansas Razorbacks open the post-Bobby Petrino era by hosting the Jacksonville State Gamecocks Saturday evening. Interim head coach John L. Smith leads his team into 2012 with Alabama looming on Week 3 of the schedule.

Tyler Wilson captains the Razorback offense after a strong junior season. The senior returns under center (or in the shotgun) after throwing for 3,638 yards and 24 touchdowns in 2011. He also completed 63.2 percent of his passes while throwing just six interceptions.

Arkansas will also enjoy the return of running back Knile Davis. The junior 6'1 NFL prospect rushed for 1,322 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2010 before missing all of 2011 with a leg injury.

Jacksonville State was 7-4 last season out of the Ohio Valley Conference at the FCS level. Its offense is led by senior running back Washaun Ealey. The Georgia transfer ran for 1,082 yards and eight touchdowns last year.
