Police Say Fan Was Drinking Before Georgia Dome Fall

During the Tennessee Volunteers and N.C. State Wolfpack game in Atlanta on Friday night, 20-year-old Isaac Grubb fell to his death as he fell over a nearly 3-foot railing and down to the lower concourse.

Grubb was cheering after a Tennessee touchdown when he fell to his death at approximately 8:23 p.m. ET.

Alcohol may have been involved. According to police officer Lt. Chad Hurston, Grubb began drinking at approximately 5 p.m. Witnesses said that they did not see Grubb purchase alcohol while he was inside the Georgia Dome Friday night. An autopsy will help determine whether alcohol played a major roll in Grubb's death.

An unidentified 34-year-old male from Fort Mill, S.C., was injured when Grubb landed on him, but his injuries were minor.

Tennessee Fan Dies After Falling From Upper Level At Georgia Dome

Isaac Grubb, the 20-year-old fan who fell from the upper level of the Georgia Dome seating during Friday night's Tennessee vs. NC State game has died, according to a report from the Associated Press.

The 20-year-old fan fell about 35 feet from the upper deck and landed on another fan sitting in the mezzanine area. The young man of Lenoir City, Tenn. was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly before midnight.

Grubb fell from the front row of section 311, a Tennessee student seating section. According to eyewittnesses, he was celebrating the Volunteers' second touchdown and fell over the railing around 8:30 p.m. The fan he fell upon was treated at an Atlanta hospital and released, with no details available about their identity.
