The Clemson Tigers proved to get the better of their nickname counterparts, being the SEC's Auburn Tigers 26-19 at the Georgia Dome on Saturday night.

Clemson was led by Andre Ellington, who put on what likely will prove to be one of the top performances of the 2012 season when all is set and done. Ellington was mesmerizing throughout the evening, gaining 228 yards on 25 carries, averaging 9.1 yards per carry.

Overall, Clemson was able to gain 320 yards on the ground, churning up turf and time en route to its first victory of the campaign.

Tajh Boyd played efficiently, throwing for 208 yards and a touchdown to DeAndre Hopkins that put Clemson ahead for good in the fourth quarter.

Auburn was failed by a passing game that was wildly inconsistent. Quarterback Kiehl Frazier struggled, only completing 11-of-27 for 194 yards to accompany a touchdown and interception.

However, Gene Chizik's squad had a solid ground attack as well led by sophomore Tre Mason who ate up 106 yards on 14 attempts.
