Wynn's departure leaves the Utah Utes starting quarterback position either in the hands of Jon Hays or Travis Wilson.
Utah Utes head coach Kyle Whittingham says that junior quarterback Jordan Wynn will no longer play football at the University of Utah. According to Whittingham, Wynn has spoken with his father and is ready to move on, but will remain as an assistant of sorts for the quarterbacks who'll replace him.
Wynn was knocked out of the Utes game on Saturday against Utah State with an apparent shoulder injury. He was hit seven times (including three sacks) before leaving the game. It is the second straight year that Wynn has suffered an early-season injury. Like last season, Jon Hays took over for Wynn, even though some expected that Travis Wilson might get the nod.
Hays took over for Wynn after last season's injury but even with Hays' history, it won't be decided right away who will be the new starting quarterback between Hays and Wilson.
