No. 9 West Virginia (1-0) will look to improve to 2-0 this season when it plays James Madison (2-0) at FedEx Field on Saturday. The Mountaineers are looking for their fourth straight 2-0 start.
West Virginia should be well-rested, as it is coming off an early-season bye week. The Mountaineers opened their season with a 69-34 win against Marshall on Sept. 1, but did not play last weekend. West Virginia's offense got off to a strong start to the season, racking up 655 total yards, including 331 rushing yards. The Mountaineers averaged 9.5 yard per rush against Marshall.
James Madison enters the game undefeated in 2012 at 2-0, but will face its toughest test of the season on Saturday. The Dukes knocked off St. Francis and Alcorn State in their first two games, winning by a combined score of 97-10. Like West Virginia, James Madision also relies on a strong running game. The Dukes are averaging 304.0 rushing yards per game this season with Dae'Quan Scott and Justin Thorpe combining for 361 yards through two games.
Saturday's game will be just the second meeting between the two schools. West Virginia won the only previous contest, 45-10, in 2004.
