Sound The (Premature) Upset Alarm: Miami, VT, Auburn In Trouble

Stay connected with SB Nation

It's the first quarter, but we have a little more drama than some teams would like to see. ULM is still auditioning for SEC membership and is tied with Auburn, 7-7, midway through the first. Miami (FL), fresh off an embarrassing loss to Kansas State, has its hands full with Bethune-Cookman.

And Virginia Tech is down 14-0 to Pitt. Yes, Pitt. The same Pitt which lost to Youngstown State by two scores and got waxed by Cincinnati.

The clicker is going to get a lot of work in the early games, so make sure you've got fresh batteries at the ready and a pot of coffee on. We've got a long day of upset alert noises and 'grounded to the GROUND' commercials left.

Week 3 is a magical week, with teams often caught napping or looking ahead to more hyped games, and this is when the real underdogs take advantage of the situation.
