Toledo Vs. Arizona Final Score: Rich Rodriguez, Wildcats Squeak Out 24-17 Overtime Win

Rich Rodriguez notched his first win as Arizona's head coach with a 24-17 overtime win against Toledo in Tucson. Rodriguez avenged an earlier loss to Toledo when he was at Michigan, which was also in overtime at home.

The Wildcats had plenty of opportunities to pull away in this one. Rodriguez's offense was true to form, amassing an impressive 623 yards of offense. 239 yards came on the ground, with Ka'Deem Carey's 73 yard touchdown rush highlighting the ground game. The remaining 384 came through the air, with Matt Scott completing 65% of his passes for over 8.3 passing yards per attempt.

However, Arizona kept on making mistakes. Arizona had a drive of 92 yards that ended in three points since it started at the Arizona one yard line. Not bad, but then the Wildcats had three drives end deep in the Toledo red zone with a fumble and two missed field goals. The Wildcats also had a fumble and a turnover-on-downs in Toledo territory, also had an interception, and then they missed a chip shot field goal as time expired.

Thankfully, Scott threw a touchdown in overtime as he was falling out of bounds to Terrence Miller, and Arizona's defense stopped Toledo from getting into the end zone.
