Kent State and Buffalo met in the first MAC midweek contest of 2012 on Wednesday night, a contest that promised some of the #MACtion that delighted college football fans in 2011, and the two teams failed miserably to produce that, with the Golden Flashes claiming a 23-7 win in a largely uninteresting game.
Kent State's consistency on the ground had something to do with that. The Flashes ran up 239 rushing yards, with Dri Archer and Trayion Durham each topping the century mark on the night, and controlled the ball for nearly 40 minutes.
Buffalo's futility on offense had more to do with it, though. The Bulls completed a miserable five passes on the night (on 26 attempts), committed four turnovers, and scored their only touchdown of the game on a Hail Mary from Alex Zordich to Alex Neutz as time expired in the first half.
Let us all dream of better #MACtion in the future.
