No. 4 Florida State is off to a strong start in 2012, but it will face its toughest test of the season so far when the Seminoles host No. 10 Clemson on Saturday.
FSU has dominated its first three opponents, winning by a combined score of 176-3. The Seminoles opened ACC play with a 52-0 win against Wake Forest last week. The FSU offense is currently second in the country in points per game at 58.7 while the Seminole defense is first in points per game allowed, giving up just 1.0 PPG.
Like Florida State, Clemson is also off to a 3-0 start this season. The Tigers are coming off a 41-7 win against Furman and are averaging 39.7 points per game for the season. Clemson is led offensively by junior quarterback Tajh Boyd. In three games, Boyd had completed 73.3 percent of hiss passes for 747 yards and six touchdowns. Andre Ellington rushed for 228 yards in the Tigers' season opener against Auburn, but has totaled just 100 yards in the two games since.
The two teams are the only remaining undefeated teams in the ACC. The winner will have a very good case for consideration near the top of the rankings next week.
