Malcolm Lewis Injury: Miami WR Dislocates Ankle

Miami Hurricanes freshman wide receiver Malcolm Lewis was carted off the field after suffering what is currently being called a dislocated ankle during Saturday afternoon's game against Georgia Tech.

The team is reporting that there was no compound fracture involved, and the ankle did not break through the skin.

Lewis had his ankle rolled up under a pile near the end of the first quarter. During the ruckus, Lewis' cleat seemed to twist in the opposite direction.

A team of trainers surrounded Lewis on the field to fix the separation and fit him with an air cast, preventing anyone from seeing the gruesome process. Miami head coach Al Golden got on his knees and embraced the pass-catcher on the ground before he was helped onto the cart.

Through the first three games of the season, Lewis had caught seven passes for 61 yards and one touchdown. He had one reception for 12 yards on the day before going down with the injury.
