Defensive back Tyrann Mathieu will enroll at LSU on Tuesday, according to his father. Mathieu was dismissed from the Tigers football program on Aug. 10 for failing a drug test. Rather than opting to transfer to a Football Championship Subdivision school where he could play football in 2012, Mathieu has instead opted to focus on getting his life in order. That involves entering drug rehab, according to reports.

Mathieu was a Heisman Trophy finalist in 2011, the most visible star on an LSU team that reached the BCS Championship game. He finished the season with 71 tackles, two interceptions, two fumble returns for touchdowns and two punt returns for touchdowns. It is unknown whether or not a re-dedicated Mathieu might be allowed to return to the LSU football team in 2013.
