Texas A&M Billboard In Gainesville Taken Down

A pro-Texas A&M billboard that appeared in Gainesville, Fla. on Tuesday morning has already been removed, according to a report from Erick Smith of USA Today.

The billboard caused quite a stir when it appears just miles from the University of Florida's campus. The Gators take on Texas A&M in the Aggies' first SEC game this Saturday.

Texas A&M quickly disassociated itself from the billboard, in a statement from school spokesman Jason Cook:

"This billboard was not placed by Texas A&M University, and it is certainly not reflective of how we have handled our transition into the SEC. We are investigating aggressively, as we believe that our institutional trademarks have been infringed upon. Texas A&M has tremendous respect for the University of Florida, and we look forward to hosting the Gators in our first SEC football game this weekend."

The billboard was replaced by a generic advertisement for the billboard's owner.
