Alabama Crimson Tide commit Deon Johnson was arrested on rape and sodomy charges Thursday night.

Alabama wide receiver commit Deon Johnson was arrested by authorities on Thursday on charges of second-degree rape and sodomy according to a report by Andrew Gribble of AL.com.

The Spanish Fort High School star was booked at Baldwin County Corrections Center at 8:43 p.m. ET on Thursday. According to the Baldwin County Sheriff's website Johnson was released on $20,000 bond.

Johnson, 18, is a three-star Rivals recruit that committed to the Crimson Tide in April of 2012 over offers from LSU, Auburn and Mississippi State. Johnson gained 110 yards of total offense including a 60-yard touchdown catch in Spanish Fort's win over Daphne High on Monday.

The 6-foot-1 Johnson caught 63 passes and recorded 19 touchdowns as a junior last season.

According to Gribble, a woman answered the phone at Johnson's residence and gave a no comment to any questions.
