The Spartans narrowly defeated the Boise State Broncos last Friday night in their season opener, winning 17-13 over the perennial Cinderellas. Central Michigan also won in Week 1, defeating Southeast Missouri State, 38-27.
Michigan State and Central Michigan met last year -- and the result wasn't pretty for the Chippewas, as the Spartans won with ease, 45-7.
If Central Michigan wants to win on Saturday, they'll have to stop Michigan State running back Le'Veon Bell, who carried the ball a staggering 44 times for 210 yards in Michigan State's win over the Broncos. Bell scored two rushing touchdowns and also added six receptions for 55 yards.
The Spartans will look for improved play from quarterback Andrew Maxwell, who did not throw a touchdown pass while throwing three interceptions against Boise State.
