Jared Abbrederis Injury: Wisconsin Star Carted Off Field

Stay connected with SB Nation

No. 13 Wisconsin was already struggling to get anything done against unranked Oregon St., trailing 3-0 with time running out in the second quarter, but things just got a lot worse. Wide receiver Jared Abbrederis was carted off of the field to the locker room, according to Bucky's 5th Quarter on Twitter.

Abbrederis is the top wide receiver for the Badgers and his loss definitely hurts. He took a huge impact to the chest, a helmet right to the sternum on a passing play over the middle. He was hit by linebacker Feti Unga of OSU. Abbrederis leaves the game with one reception for 26 yards, leaving guys like Jordan Fredrick, Brian Wozniak and Jacob Pederson to get the job done for Wisconsin.

Badgers quarterback Danny O'Brien is already struggling on the day, with just four completions in 11 pass attempts. He's been brought down behind the line a couple times and officially has -23 yards rushing at this point. On the other side, Sean Mannion has passed for 181 yards off of 19 completions.

There is no update regarding the severity of Abbrederis' injury, but it did look like a serious hit. Stay tuned and we'll keep you updated.
