Washington Vs. LSU Final Score: LSU Stifles Huskies, 41-3

The third-ranked LSU Tigers dominated from start to finish on Saturday night, downing the Washington Huskies 41-3 in Baton Rouge.

LSU's defense held Washington to just 183 yards of total offense, including just 26 rushing yards. This gave the Tigers an advantage on offense, exploiting good field position to the tune of 41 points.

Washington held what looked to be two sure LSU touchdown drives to field goals in the second quarter, keeping the Huskies in the game with a 20-3 halftime score. But LSU used a punishing run game in the third quarter to extend the lead to 34-3. Alfred Blue led the Tigers' rushing attack with 101 yards on 14 carries. Kenny Hilliard, Michael Ford and Spencer Ware combined for another 136 yards on the night.

Box Score Hero: Zach Mettenberger, LSU QB. While not a flashy night, Mettenberger posted a super-efficient line of 12-18 passing for 195 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions.

Rankings Ramifications: LSU's performance certainly bodes well for them and they shouldn't fall. There is some possibility that LSU could jump USC for the two-spot, as the Trojans struggled to put away Syracuse for quite a while.

But Did They Cover? LSU easily covered the 23.5-point line.
