Western Kentucky Vs. Alabama Final Score: 35-0

The top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide handled the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers this afternoon, winning 35-0 in front of a capacity crowd at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron led the way for the tide, going 15-of-20 for 225 yards and four touchdowns, allowing the Tide's offense to move easily on the Hilltoppers' defense.

The Alabama defense turned in a good performance as well, holding WKU to only 224 total yards, with only 46 of those coming on the ground. The Tide also forced four turnovers on the day, recovering three fumbles and hauling in an interception.

Western Kentucky quarterback Kawaun Jakes was efficient on the afternoon, going 20-of-31 with 178 yards, but he was unable to get the ball in the end zone for the Hilltoppers.

Box Score Hero: Kevin Norwood caught three of McCarron's passes, two of which went for touchdowns. The Crimson Tide receiver tallied 92 receiving yards, meaning that he averaged just more than 30 yards per catch.

Rankings Ramifications: Alabama is not going anywhere, as they will hold on to the top spot of the major polls heading in to next week.

But Did They Cover? Alabama was favored by 38 points, so their 35 points was just under that mark.
