Five months ago had you told me that Oklahoma would be playing in the Sun Bowl on New Year's Eve I would have called you crazy. As it turns out the Sooner are El Paso bound and the word crazy is the best description of a season that was marred by injury and under performing.

The Cardinal were coming off a 5-7 season in `08 and were picked to finish around 5th in the Pac 10 this season. For those reasons Stanford’s eight win season and second place tie in the Pac 10 is a major success while Oklahoma’s five loss season was a major disappointment.

Early yesterday evening it was announced that Oklahoma and Stanford would face each other in the Sun Bowl on New Year’s Eve. Then it was announced by Cardinal Head Coach, Jim Harbaugh that starting quarterback Andrew Luck wouldn’t be playing against the Sooners.
