OSU v. Illinois: Defensive Analysis by Ross F.
It's unacceptable that Ohio State, which has signed the best recruiting class in the Big Ten three out of the last four years, can perform so poorly on offense. Yet there remains an undercurrent amongst some Buckeye fans that Jim Bollman's offense is simply an extension of Jim Tressel's philosophy, Tresselball to the extreme, if you will.

Stoneburner's touchdown, which Illini receiver A.J. Jenkins set up by fumbling near his own 28-yard line three plays earlier, gave Ohio State a 17-0 lead over Illinois with thirteen minutes left. Despite some late game hijinks and a return to Bollman ball, the Silver Bullet defense held the lead and secured a 17-7 Buckeye victory.
