Madden 12 Cover Voting: Matt Ryan, Michael Vick, Hines Ward Reach Second Round

A trio of players with Peach State ties reached the second round of EA Sports' voting bracket for Madden 12. Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan demolished Carolina Panthers OT Jordan Gross, perhaps the most overmatched player in the entire bracket, 89 percent to 11, while former Georgia Bulldogs WR Hines Ward topped former Florida Gators DE Carlos Dunlap 72 percent to 28.

Former Falcon Michael Vick beat Dallas Cowboys LB DeMarcus Ware 76 percent to 24. Elsewhere in the NFC South, New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees slipped past Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Josh Freeman 56 percent to 44.

In the next round, Ryan draws Cleveland Browns RB Peyton Hillis, who cruised past Baltimore Ravens RB Ray Rice in round one. Ward gets San Francisco 49ers LB Patrick Willis, Vick faces Houston Texans WR Andre Johnson, and Brees is up against New York Jets QB Mark Sanchez. I'd expect Ryan, Ward, and Vick to advance, while Brees might have a tough time making round three.

EA Sports has gotten in the spirit of the NCAA Basketball Tournament by making a full-fledged 32-player bracket to decide who will be on the cover of Madden '12. Each team has a representative, and fans can vote on the match-ups to decide who will grace the cover. They are seeded and everything!

The Cleveland Browns representative is RB Peyton Hillis, coming in as a #10 seed. His first round opponent is RB Ray Rice of the Baltimore Ravens. In fact, all first round match-ups are divisional rivalries. The other AFC Central showdown is Pittsburgh Steelers WR Hines Ward going up against Cincinnati Bengals DE Carlos Dunlap.

Should Hillis get out of the first round, he would face the winner of the (2)Matt Ryan Vs. (15)Jordan Gross showdown.

Hillis ran for 1,574 yards in 2010 while scoring 17 touchdowns. Rice finished with 1,220 yards and 5 touchdowns for the Ravens.

The No. 1 seeds in the Cover Tournament are Packers QB Aaron Rodgers and Chargers QB Philip Rivers.
