The Mississippi Rebels football team is bad at sports. Coach Houston Nutt is the first Ole Miss coach to ever lose nine SEC games in a row. It's no surprise that Nutt, a man of hope and metaphors, feels "there's a light at the end of the tunnel. There's not a train coming" as his 2-4 team readies to play the No. 9 Arkansas Razorbacks.

But if it's not a train, what could it be?

NFL prospects are apparently being told by the burning shell of the NFLPA to boycott the 2011 NFL Draft as an extra twist of the knife to the ongoing labor dispute between team owners and the players' union. Which brings up the highly entertaining party question: Will the league invite lower-tier draft picks to fill the rows in their stead? Which eventual undrafted free agent from your alma mater would you most like to see bound to the stage like a sober Ryan Leaf?

(Somewhere deep in the smoky confines of downtown Tampa's The Hub bar, Jevan Snead stirs from his barstool, tosses his Arena League logo cap at the assembled empties in front of him (it misses), and roars: "THIS IS MY MOMENT!"
