An interception by Harrison Smith at the goal line with 36 seconds remaining made all the difference for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish as they captured a thrilling 20-16 win over the USC Trojans.
USC's defense forced four Notre Dame turnovers, but a nonexistent running game and ineffective play by quarterback Mitch Mustain couldn't take full advantage, as Notre Dame beat the Trojans, 20-16, in a sloppy game at the Coliseum.
The ND Offense is hitting on all cylinders, and the Defense looks like a completely different unit than we saw against the Navy option attack.
