Paul Wulff says Kevin Lopina is going to start again against Hawaii, and an in fact will probably play the majority of the time against the Warriors. If that doesn't signal he's got the inside track for the job, we don't know what does.
Kevin Lopina played better than Marshall Lobbestael on Saturday; that much is clear. What's not so clear is whether it will be enough to win him the job full time -- or whether the coaching staff even wants to give it to him full time.

Paul Wulff has announced that both Kevin Lopina and Marshall Lobbestael will play against the Stanford Cardinal on Saturday. It's a decision that's likely to not only hamper the Cougs' chances of winning that game, but also the ability of one guy or the other to develop long term.
The coaching staff is insisting that Lopina and Lobbestael are dead even in the race to become the starting quarterback. We think it's just coachspeak.
