Lexington, KY (Sports Network) - Kentucky starting quarterback Mike Hartline had an MRI performed on his left knee, Wildcats head coach Rich Brooks announced on Sunday.
Hartline, who is likely to miss at least two-to-four weeks, injured his medial collateral ligament in the third quarter of Saturday's loss to South Carolina. The MRI, which will be evaluated Monday, was used to determine if he also damaged cartilage and the anterior cruciate ligament.
The junior has passed for 792 yards to go with six touchdowns and six interceptions while completing 60.6 percent of his passes in five games this season for Kentucky (2-3), which has lost three straight.
Will Fidler - a junior - and true freshman Morgan Newton are expected to compete for the starting QB position.
