Rice downs Air Force

The Rice Owls defeated the Air Force Falcons in the 2012 Armed Forces Bowl and improved to 7-6.

Rice took over in the second half of the Armed Force Bowl and defeated Air Force, 33-14.

The Air Force Falcons entered the second half with the lead but didn't score again as the Rice Owls' offense exploded and the Falcons couldn't keep up.

Behind a strong defensive effort and a breakout performance by backup quarterback Driphus Jackson, the Rice Owls earned a two-touchdown victory over the Air Force Falcons, who gained a season-low 214 yards of total offense.

Rice QB Taylor McHargue sustained a concussion on a play in which he fumbled, eventually leading to an Air Force touchdown.
