The SMU Mustangs are in need of a basketball coach after firing Matt Doherty on March 13. Doherty was 80-109 in six season on the job.
Saint Louis University basketball coach Rick Majerus has been given permission to speak with Southern Methodist University about their head coach opening.
The Hall of Fame coach brings an unprecedented amount of optimism to the Hilltop as he attempts to revive the moribund SMU program.
