Current 2013 NFL Draft order: Chiefs and Jaguars still at the top

Jared Wickerham

After 10 weeks, the pick sequence remains muddy and Buffalo begins sinking toward the bottom.

By losing again, both Kansas City and Jacksonville held serve in the race for the No. 1 pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. Both teams still only have one win, but the Chiefs hold the top pick by virtue of strength of schedule.

At least for Kansas City, things are looking a little better. For the first time all season, the Chiefs held a lead in regulation Monday night against the Steelers. They may even seek advisement from Marty Schottenheimer, so there's that too. The Jaguars, meanwhile, have a rookie wide receiver in Justin Blackmon who seems to care a little bit less each week. You can't say the same about head coach Mike Mularkey who is at least making himself GIFable. Maybe Jacksonville can try drafting Chip Kelly from the University of Oregon.

New into the top five this week is Buffalo, losers of five of its last six games. The Bills' offensive may be taking the blame this week, but their defense is the main culprit. No team in the NFL gives up more points per game than Buffalo at 31.7, so it may be helpful that it's a draft heavy on defensive prospects.

The sister-kissing tie between St. Louis and San Francisco had a sizable impact on the middle of the first round. The Rams are currently slotted into the 10th pick. Had they won, they'd be in the 17th spot.

Standout stat: The Arizona Cardinals have given up the most sacks in the league with 41. The next closest team has 29. Arizona, which currently is slated to pick 17th, could nab an offensive tackle like Texas A&M's Jake Matthews or Central Michigan's Eric Fisher in the first round.

Quick team needs thought: Carson Palmer of the Oakland Raiders is third in the league in passing yards. Most have been projecting Oakland to take a quarterback in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft (myself included). But with Palmer signed through 2014, maybe it's time to rethink that notion.

Here is the current 2013 NFL Draft order:
