Russ Lande says NFL evaluators have compared Glennon to current Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan.
North Carolina State quarterback Mike Glennon has been a hot discussion point over the last month, as the tall, strong-armed passer played his way to the top of Mel Kiper's quarterback rankings.
Glennon is certainly going to be polarizing as the draft approaches, with plenty of people questioning his decision-making under pressure. Still, Russ Lande, one of the most respected voices in the scouting community, has heaped some praise on Glennon. Lande said that NFL evaluators he has spoken to compare Glennon to current Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan when he was coming out of Boston College.
The comparison to Ryan is an interesting one. Glennon's arm is probably stronger and he is a bit bigger. Both players were held back by the offenses they were in, however. Glennon and Ryan also both show questionable decision-making under pressure, but Ryan has improved on this since entering the NFL.
Glennon will have a chance to live up to the hype this week as he participates in Senior Bowl practices leading up to the game on Saturday, Jan. 26.
