Sharrif Floyd missed Florida Pro Day with an ankle injury, but Matt Elam and others performed for and impressed NFL scouts on Tuesday.

The Florida Gators held their annual Pro Day on Tuesday. Defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd, considered by some to be a candidate for the first overall selection in the 2013 NFL Draft, did not work out due to an ankle injury. With Floyd absent, several other Gators, such as safety Matt Elam, drew scouts from throughout the NFL to come and attend the event. Two head coaches, Mike Tomlin of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Gus Bradley of the Jacksonville Jaguars were in attendance as well.

Other major prospects that drew the attention of scouts on Tuesday were outside linebacker Jelani Jenkins, tight end Jordan Reed and linebacker Jon Bostic, among others. Former Gator and Pittsburgh Steelers running back Chris Rainey was also present and working out at the Florida Pro Day.

Nearly everyone who took part improved their stock on a soggy field, looking quick and polished, but perhaps Jenkins gained the most ground on Tuesday. Jenkins missed the Sugar Bowl due to a broken foot and also suffered a broken thumb and hamstring injury during the season. He showed scouts that he had recovered on Pro Day, looking good in agility drills and running a 4.5 second 40-yard dash.

Elam didn't run any timed drills, sticking with his results from the Scouting Combine, but looked strong in on-the-field drills, and could move up into the first round come draft day.

In the latest mock draft from SB Nation's Dan Kadar, Floyd is projected to be selected by the Oakland Raiders with the third selection, while Elam is on the outside of the first round. In the latest player rankings, Floyd is listed as the No. 8 prospect with Elam at No. 37. Due to Floyd's injury, he will hold his own Pro Day workout on March 22.
