Tavon Austin is going to be a very busy man in the coming weeks between now and the 2013 NFL Draft. According to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport, the speedy West Virginia wideout has a visit scheduled with the San Francisco 49ers on Wednesday, and visits with the St. Louis Rams, Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals for next week.
Two of those teams may not have a chance to take Austin, if SB Nation's latest mock draft is any indication. He is projected to go No. 17 overall to the Pittsburgh Steelers, four spots ahead of the Bengals and 14 spots ahead of the 49ers. The Browns would likely be able to nab Austin at No. 6 overall, however, and the Rams have their first of two first round picks at No. 16 overall.
Austin has climbed up draft boards thanks to an impressive workout at the 2013 NFL Combine in February. He finished second behind Marquise Goodwin at his position with a 4.34 in the 40-yard dash in Indianapolis. All four teams have a need at slot receiver, and the 5'9 Austin is regarded by many as the best in his class, possessing underrated toughness and added value as a kick returner.
