If the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft was defined by offensive and defensive linemen, the second round will be known for its offensive skill position players.
There is a multitude of highly-rated players still on the board. Most notably, the best quarterbacks in the draft will be taken in the second round. With the signal callers, it's going to be about finding the best scheme fit. The Jacksonville Jaguars may try to move down from pick No. 33, but they could still land Geno Smith. The Arizona Cardinals could get their quarterback of the future, be it Matt Barkley or Mike Glennon.
The second round is going to feature a lot of wide receivers. This mock has three in the second round, but five or six could conceivably go in this round. The first running backs of the draft should get picked in the second round as well.
On Friday, we'll truly find out why the second and third rounds of the draft are considered the strength this year. The players in these rounds could arguably be as good or better than some players taken in the first.
As is the case with just about all of my mock drafts, I didn't project trades in this mock draft. Because of that, Glennon and Ryan Nassib didn't get picked. I expect them to in the second round.
