The Packers and Niners square off in the Divisional Round. This is the place to find out how to follow the game.
The San Francisco 49ers host the Green Bay Packers on Saturday night with a trip to the NFC Championship on the line. The two teams have already met once this season, with the Niners taking down the Packers in Green Bay all the way back in Week 1.
That was part of a slow start for Green Bay, but they turned it on down the stretch to grab the NFC North title. The Packers feature a potent passing game led by Aaron Rodgers and they hope to gash the San Francisco defense the same way the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots did late in the season. The Green Bay defense will have its hands full as the 49ers' offense will look different than it did at the beginning of the season.
The Niners were led by quarterback Alex Smith in Week 1. Smith wasn't asked to make many big plays, but rather take what the defense was giving him. With second-year QB Colin Kaepernick now at the helm, San Francisco is looking for big things out of that position. Kaepernick has a big arm that can make the deep throws and he also is a threat in the read-option game. He will force the defense to take some of their focus away from Frank Gore and the running game.
