The young quarterback set a pair of records on a 56 -ard touchdown run in the third quarter against the Packers, and also put his team in the lead.
Colin Kaepernick burst around the right side for a 56-yard touchdown run midway through the third quarter, giving the San Francisco 49ers a 31-24 lead over the Green Bay Packers. The Packers had just tied the game with a 31-yard Mason Crosby field goal on the previous drive.
The run put Kaepernick at 163 rushing yards for the game, breaking Roger Craig's franchise record for rushing yards in a playoff game. It also set a new NFL record for rushing yards in a game by a quarterback, and there's still another quarter and change left to play. Kaepernick has also reached that total on only 12 carries, which calculates to a healthy 13.6 yards per carry average.
In addition to his rushing prowess, Kaepernick is 13-of-27 passing for 172 yards, two touchdowns and an interception on the day, and is out-dueling Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers at his own game.
