Streeter Lecka
With all of the momentum headed towards the road team, the Falcons veteran corner forced the ball to the ground.
Just when everything was going the San Francisco 49ers way on Sunday, it stopped. And it was stopped rudely by Falcons cornerback Dunta Robinson.
After the 49ers cut the lead to 24-21 on a Frank Gore 5-yard touchdown run, Atlanta needed a score in the worst way to get it back to a two-score game. However as the Falcons were driving into San Francisco territory, they were stopped short after Matt Ryan mishandled a snap in the shotgun and fumbled it back of to the Niners. It looked like San Francisco was going to keep moving in the right direction and take their first lead of the football game after they had managed to get the Atlanta 5. But on 2nd-and-goal, Michael Crabtree caught a pass and started running for a touchdown, where he was met by Robinson, who stripped it away at the 1-yard line.
The ball was recovered by the Falcons and they managed to stop the 49ers for awhile. However, the Falcons punted on the ensuing drive and San Francisco scored on a Gore touchdown run to take a 28-24 lead with 8:23 remaining in the game.
