The 49ers got the ball to start the drive in Falcons territory after Ted Ginn returned a punt 20 yards. The Niners' last drive ended when Michael Crabtree fumbled the ball within inches of the goal line, but the Falcons couldn't get anything going. The Niners used three different running backs — Anthony Dixon, LaMichael James and Frank Gore — on their drive to push the Falcons back.
The Falcons are driving, but all the air was temporarily sucked out of the Georgia Dome when Gore scored. He didn't make anyone feel any better when he did the Dirty Bird in the end zone, either. This game is shaping up to be a classic.
