Vikings Vs. Jets: Brett Favre Gets 500th And 501st Career TD Passes To Get Minnesota In The Game

ESPN couldn't be more grateful that Brett Favre had thrown only two touchdowns in the Vikings' first three games. They had their flashy graphic good and ready for when Favre finally overcame three quarters of ineptitude to get one in the end zone to his new toy, Randy Moss.

It's been a night of huge milestones for Favre. In one night, he's become the all-time career leader in fumbles, passed 70,000 yards passing and 500 career touchdown passes. If not for those pesky text message allegations, it would likely be a pleasantly memorable night for the Gunslinger.

Favre later got his 501st career TD pass hitting Percy Harvin streaking across the middle of the field. The Vikings attempted to tie with a two-point conversion but Favre's pass was intercepted in the end zone.

Curiously, whereas in the first half the ESPN announcers constantly questioned whether Favre's arm was hurt as the quarterback struggled, that has entirely given way to glowing praise about his feats of magic. Not that anyone should be surprised.
