Pierre Garcon Drops Wide Open Pass, Responds With Amazing Backhanded Catch

Stay connected with SB Nation

Pierre Garcon has put together quite an impressive first half on Sunday night, hauling in four passes for 103 yards and a touchdown, including a 57-yard bomb to notch the game's first score. Those numbers almost double Garcon's yardage output for the season to date.

But it might have been slightly better had Garcon not dropped a pass along the right sideline where he was open by at least five yards, but flubbed a soft lob by Peyton Manning. Garcon, who seems to have more stress placed on the accent in his last name by the announcers than ever tonight, more than made up for the error with what might be the most impressive catch of the day.

To set up an Adam Vinatieri field goal to stretch the Colts lead to 10 points, Garcon made a leaping, one-armed, backhanded catch along that same right sideline. I would not recommend trying to replicate this catch. Not that you'd necessarily injure yourself. You'd just be wasting your time.
