NFL Trade Deadline: Chiefs Make Last Minute Trade With Buccaneers

There was a trade today after all.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Chiefs traded DE Alex Magee to the Bucs.

The two sides will exchange 2011 draft picks.

Magee had been disappointing in Kansas City since the Chiefs made him a 2009 third round pick.

NFL Trade Deadline Passes At 4:00 P.M.

The NFL trade deadline passed at 4 p.m. (eastern). There haven't been any reported trades so it appears the deadline passed without any last second deals.

Here are the highlights of the (lack of) action at the NFL trade deadline:

Most of the action happened last week with the Deion Branch trade and then the week before with the Randy Moss trade.

NFL Trade Rumors: Texans Could Be Looking For Linebacker Help

The Houston Texans entered Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs with four healthy linebackers on the active roster for the day. They left the game with just three.

LB DeMeco Ryans tore his Achilles' tendon and is out for the year.

That means the Texans will be looking for something, anything to help out with their linebacker situation.

Texans GM Rick Smith and head coach Gary Kubiak worked out some free agent linebackers this week and said they'll do everything they can to enhance the roster, particularly for the 31st ranked defense.

NFL Trade Rumors: Patriots G Logan Mankins To Bears Is Unlikely

Patriots G Logan Mankins is an unsigned restricted free agent at the moment. If he does sign his tender. he'll be eligible to be traded.

One of the NFL trade rumors that we've seen popping up includes Mankins and the Bears, who are giving up a lot of sacks. writes that a deal between the two teams is unlikely.

They’re just not likely to find them by Tuesday’s trade deadline, according to multiple personnel executives around the league, who identified some of the potential snags of a trade while questioning whether Mankins is actually worth what Chicago would have to give up to acquire him.

The NFL trade deadline is just a few hours away and there are a lot of things that would have to be done for the two sides to consummate a trade. It doesn't seem likely.

NFL Trade Rumors: Albert Haynesworth Can Reportedly Be Had For A 2nd Round Pick

The NFL trade deadline is approaching which means the trade rumors are starting to increase.

The latest surrounds Redskins' Albert Haynesworth. Head coach Mike Shanahan told reporters on Monday that Haynesworth likely wouldn't be traded.

NFL Network's Jason La Canfora says that doesn't mean the Redskins aren't trying to trade him.

The Redskins have been holding out for a second-round pick, according to sources, but the price could be dropping, sources say, with the deadline now just hours away.

SB Nation DC fills us in on a little bit of context with Haynesworth and what's been going on in Washington lately.

Haynesworth was clearly upset about being inactive for last Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts, and said he wouldn't be surprised if he was traded. The Tennessee Titans, Haynesworth's former club, remain the team most interested in Haynesworth, and according to La Canfora, they have had the "most consistent contact" with the Redskins about Haynesworth.

The Titans make sense as a trade partner. They're 4-2 and tied for first place in their division. They could use some deadline help to put them over the hump.

NFL Trade Deadline Is At 4 P.M. On Tuesday

The NFL trade deadline always causes lots and lots of talk but little action. This year shouldn't be much different.

The deadline is at 4 p.m  (eastern). That means any NFL trades -- and we've heard some good trade rumors -- need to be submitted before then. Here are a few of the rumors floating around:

The big names like Vincent Jackson seem unlikely to go anywhere because of the cost associated. For many teams, they don't want to give up a second round draft pick for a proven player because that second round draft pick is immensely cheaper than a proven player. Many teams have cut back their spending.

NFL Trade Rumors: Albert Haynesworth Deal Looks Unlikely

The NFL trade deadline is coming at 4:00 p.m. (eastern) on Tuesday and it appears one of the biggest name, Redskins' Albert Haynesworth, won't be going anywhere.

Via SB Nation DC:

"There's a pretty good chance Albert will not be traded."

This isn't a surprise. If Haynesworth is traded so is his contract and it's a big one. Teams have seen the mess in Washington over the last six months and don't want to give something up for him and pay him a lot of money.

NFL Trade Rumors: Signs Say Ravens RB Willis McGahee May Be Available

The NFL trade deadline is coming on Tuesday Oct. 19 so the trade rumors are picking up.

The Baltimore Sun is wondering whether the Ravens would consider trading RB Willis McGahee.

The speculation is really picking up because while he did dress for the Ravens Week 6 game against the Patriots, he did not play. Sometimes that's a sign that a team is getting ready to trade someone because they don't want to risk an injury before a trade.

As the Baltimore Sun points out, the Ravens were reportedly shopping McGahee during the offseason.

Trading McGahee makes sense because he's not the primary back and may still have value.

NFL Trade Rumors: Steve Smith Is Not Available For Trade

The Carolina Panthers are in the midst of a rebuilding year but they won't be trading away one of their most valuable assets.

In the same week that the Panthers reportedly told teams RB Jonathan Stewart and RB DeAngelo Williams are not available via trade, they're also telling teams that WR Steve Smith is not on the market, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. He writes that they will not trade him "under any circumstance."

I can see both sides of this one. On the one hand, you want all the weapons you can get for your rookie QB. On the other hand, you're in a rebuilding year and need to stockpile draft picks.

Schefter reports that there have been teams that have called about Schefter.

NFL Trade Rumors: Raiders Say Everyone Is Available As Deadline Nears

The NFL trade deadline is just over 24 hours away so the trade rumors are starting to pick up.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Sunday that the Oakland Raiders are telling teams everyone is available at the deadline. The Raiders, 2-4, don't appear to be serious threats in the weak AFC West.

As Schefter points out, there's been some talk surrounding LB Thomas Howard and CB Chris Johnson. Perhaps they're moved on Monday or Tuesday.

Last year around this time the Raiders reportedly did the same thing by calling teams during trade deadline week to tell them anyone is available.

Some say that's a motivational tool to get the players playing better while others say it's an admission in Oakland that this is yet another lost season.
