Vikings Vs. Packers: OMG, The Packers Beat The Vikings By Four

Brettlambeau_medium

The Packers found a way to finally win a close game over a worthy opponent after falling short in their three losses in close games so far this season. The Vikings on Sunday night had the ball down four points needing a touchdown to take a critical win in a divisional game but were unable to make that score after making their way deep into Green Bay territory late.

Minnesota put themselves in position to get that score to win late, driving to the Green Bay 15 after a 26-yard pass to Adrian Peterson on the final drive. The Vikes followed that up with a false start on Visanthe Shiancoe and a personal foul penalty by Phil Loadholt to push Minnesota back to a 1st and 30 with a minute left needing the decisive score.

Favre hit Percy Harvin for what was almost a go-ahead touchdown, but Harvin's right foot landed out of bounds. After a 15-yard throw to Peterson, Favre tried twice to Moss to no avail and the Packers earned their first victory over Brett Favre since he joined the Minnesota Vikings. And it was by four points, which is a totally important margin of victory because it is the jersey number Favre has worn his entire career. Don't mistake it with dumb coincidence. Only simplistic numerology can make otherwise banal gaps in score seem important.
