Firing Brad Childress Doesn't Bode Well For Vikings In Week 12 Vs. Redskins

Now that the news of the Minnesota Vikings firing Brad Childress has been out, it's time to look at how the 3-7 Vikings can finish out the season. They've lost four of their last five including last week's embarrassing 31-3 beat down courtesy of the Green Bay Packers.

History says interim head coach Leslie Frazier will have a tough time winning next week against the Washington Redskins. Mike Prada of SB Nation DC has done the research and the last 16 interim head coaches have combined for a 3-13 record in their first game. Check out SB Nation DC for the full breakdown.

It sounds crazy to write but if the Vikings have even the slightest hope of salvaging this season they would definitely need to win out the rest of the season. Even 9-7 may not do it. Yes, it is definitely crazy to think the Vikings could do this with all of their problems. Childress may be only one chunk of the problems with Brett Favre and everything that surrounds him on the team.

The Redskins need a win next week and, if history has anything to say about it, they'll probably get it against the Vikings.

Agreed

Honestly the Vikings removal of Brad Childress was a case of performing Brain Surgery when the patient had a broken leg.

But keeping Clueless wouldn't have helped matters either.

The Vikings are better off without him.

Now that Brad Childress is gone, the BCS needs to follow.
