Move over Michael Vick. DeSean Jackson just stole the spotlight.
The small, but explosive, wide receiver returned a punt for a 65-yard touchdown. After muffling the catch, Jackson picked up the ball and ran almost straight up the field as he blew by the Giants punt coverage team. His return touchdown capped off an epic 28 point swing in favor of the Eagles in the fourth quarter.
Heading into the fourth quarter of the game, the Philadelphia Eagles were down 21 points to the New York Giants. Leading 31-10, the Giants seemed to be in cruise control as the Eagles offense had yet to make a mark and the Eagles defense had yet to show, since the first quarter, that it could stop the Giants offense.
Then Vick showed it. As if the Vick of yesterday suddenly entered his body, Vick's legs began to make changes in the game. A 33-yard run to get the Eagles out of their own red zone was followed up by a 22-yard rush to put the Eagles into striking distance of the Giants red zone. A 13-yard touchdown pass from Vick to wide receiver Jeremy Maclin tied the game at 31.
A fumble by DeSean Jackson was not challenged by Andy Reid, at the beginning of the quarter, despite replays showing that he was down-by-contact prior to the fumble. Giants tight end Kevin boss and quarterback Eli Manning made the most of the turnover, connecting for an 8-yard touchdown. That Giants touchdown was followed up by four Eagles touchdowns in under eight minutes.
The game ends Eagles 38, Giants 31.
