One play after the red zone fumble by Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson, New York Giants QB Eli Manning hit WR Mario Manningham after a slip by CB Tramon Williams. Manningham did the rest, running most of the field to complete an 85-yard touchdown strike. The Giants have now scored twice on plays in which a Packers defensive back fell down in coverage, meaning somebody’s going to be talking to the Green Bay equipment manager at halftime.
The catch-and-run was the longest pass of Manning’s career and the longest Giants play of 2010.
Both quarterbacks have now thrown for a handful more than 160 yards, along with two touchdowns. The Packers have outgained the Giants 222 to 185. Nelson’s fumble killed a great drive and gave the Giants momentum heading into their own drive, but Green Bay will have more chances. They’re currently driving near midfield.
