On Wednesday in Mississippi, Brett Favre's 34 year-old sister, Brandi, was arrested on felony charges of manufacturing methamphetamine. Favre's sister was among three people arrested and charged when authorities discovered a de-facto meth lab in the bathtub of a condominium in Diamondhead, Mississippi.
It's been a tough year to be a Favre.
It's not the first time Brett's sister has been in trouble with the law. In 1999, she was charged with felony shoplifting. And for the record, it's totally unfair to hold Favre responsible for the actions of his sister.
But "rooting for Brett Favre is like rooting for America," Chris Berman once said. And if a member of his family had to get arrested for anything, nitpick 'em if you want, but there's nothing truer to the gritty values of the American heartland than a good ole fashioned felony meth charge.
And it's really not something to joke about, but... Who knew the debut episode of the Onion's SportsDome would be so prescient? ... Who says meth isn't a sports story?
