Reports: Hue Jackson Now Raiders Head Coach, Al Saunders Expected To Be OC

As has been forecast for weeks, Hue Jackson has become the new head coach of the Oakland Raiders, according to ESPN’s Michael Smith. As far as negotiations and paperwork go, Smith says “contract finished.”

Adam Schefter reports Al Saunders as Jackson’s likely offensive coordinator. Saunders has coached with the Rams, Chargers, Chiefs, and Redskins, spending 2009 and 2010 as the Ravens offensive coordinator. He was the Redskins’ assistant head coach in 2006 and 2007, the first two years of Jason Campbell’s career as the Skins starter. Campbell is currently on the Raiders roster.

Jackson and Saunders worked together in 2009 on the Ravens staff when Jackson was Saunders’ quarterbacks coach. My how the tables have turned! Jackson has also coached for the Redskins, Bengals, and Falcons. He has yet to hold down a head coaching job and has only two years of OC experience.
