Hue Jackson To Be Introduced As Raiders Head Coach On Tuesday

The Oakland Raiders announced on Twitter that they’ll introduce Hue Jackson as their new head coach on Tuesday. Team owner Al Davis was quoted by the team’s Twitter as saying, “The fire in Hue will set a flame that will burn for a long time in the hearts and minds of the Raider football team and the Raider Nation.”

That’s a pretty weird thing to say about a football coach, but Davis is a pretty weird guy, in case you’re not aware. This marks another report about the Raiders that Adam Schefter has gotten correct, likely to Davis’ dismay.

Reacting to the news, Jackson’s former pupil Chad Ochocinco called the 45-year-old the “best receiver coach I’ve ever had.”

Jackson is the team’s sixth head coach since Jon Gruden’s 2001 exit, and looking at the history of Raiders coaches is always good for a chuckle because it reminds you that Lane Kiffin once coached here.
