NFL Playoff Predictions: Steelers Over Jets In AFC Championship Game

The Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Jets will meet Sunday in the AFC Championship game and we expect a defensive battle. Both teams sport a top defense and that's where they make their money. Because both teams are so solid defensively, I think this game comes down to the quarterbacks.

So with my NFL playoff prediction for the AFC Championship game, I'm going with the Steelers. Not to knock Mark Sanchez, but I believe in Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers defense more than Sanchez and the Jets. Sanchez has been solid yet inconsistent at times this year and against a top defense I think he struggles more than usual.

The Steelers defense will be able to win the turnover battle -- I'm predicting 3-1 -- and that will be too much for the Jets.

That said it's not like my prediction is fact and the Jets can't win. In fact, they already did. They beat the Steelers 22-17 in their house this year and we know they're capable of doing it again. The Steelers are 3.5 point favorites right now. This marks the third consecutive playoff game this year the Jets are underdogs.

Officially, my score prediction is 17-14 Steelers. Check out Behind The Steel Curtain and Gang Green Nation for more on the game.
