Early in the second quarter, we’ve seen just four drives in the 2011 AFC Championship Game. The Pittsburgh Steelers scored on the first, the New York Jets punted on the second, and the Jets punted again to follow a Ben Roethlisberger interception. The pick was the Steelers QB’s first in nearly 200 attempts.
Pittsburgh has excellent field position for its next try, with that Steve Weatherford punt flying out of bounds near midfield.
New York’s defense hasn’t exactly taken advantage of center Maurkice Pouncey’s absence. Pittsburgh has run more than twice as many offensive plays as New York has, gained seven more first downs, and earned almost five times as many yards. Pittsburgh has rushed for 68 yards to New York’s -2.
