The NFL rotates the home team and away team for each Super Bowl and this year it was the NFC's turn to be the home team. The Green Bay Packers have their choice of their white or green jerseys and they'll be wearing green.
Head coach Mike McCarthy said that the Packers prefer to wear the green jerseys and they're "excited" they got their choice. The Packers wear their green jerseys at home and they went 7-1 in Lambeau this year so it makes sense to me. Then again those road jerseys have been kind to the Packers in the postseason as they've won three consecutive road games to make it to the 2011 Super Bowl.
The Packers in green jerseys means that the Pittsburgh Steelers will be wearing their white jerseys -- the same ones they wore in their last Super Bowl victory over the Arizona Cardinals.
The Packers and Steelers won't be getting dirty, either, as the NFL announced the roof at Cowboys Stadium will be closed on Feb. 6 for the game.
